A Small Sunset Park Shop, Run by the People Who Own It
A&A Quick Fix Auto Repair is an independently owned repair shop and licensed New York State Inspection Station at 889 3rd Ave in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The two A's in the name are Ahmad and Ali, the two people who own and run it. The shop opened at this address in January 2024.
It is a small operation: two bays, three mechanics, and one more we bring in when the workload calls for it. A&A Quick Fix is registered with the New York State DMV as Facility #7132360, which is a number you can check with the DMV yourself. Walk-ins are welcome, and every job starts with a diagnosis before any repair is approved.
When you call A&A Quick Fix, you are talking to the people who will actually be working on your car. There is no service advisor between you and the mechanic.

A&A Quick Fix in Four Numbers
Where the Name Comes From
A&A is Ahmad and Ali
There is no marketing story behind the name. The shop is called A&A Quick Fix because there are two of us and we both have names beginning with A. Ahmad and Ali. That is the whole explanation.
It matters for one practical reason. A&A Quick Fix is a small, family-run shop with no corporate owner, no regional manager, and no service-advisor desk between the customer and the person holding the wrench. Ali has spent about ten years working as a mechanic. When he tells you what your car needs, that is a mechanic's opinion, not a sales target.
Being small has real limits, and we will say so when we hit them. Some days that means a job has to wait. We would rather tell you that on the phone than have you sit here finding out.
How Long We Have Been Here
The straight answer
A&A Quick Fix opened at 889 3rd Ave in January 2024. We are not going to describe ourselves as a Brooklyn institution, because we are not one yet.
What we can point to instead
Ali worked as a mechanic for about ten years before this shop existed. And since opening, Brooklyn drivers have left more than ninety reviews on our Google Business Profile. We did not write those and we cannot edit them — read them and judge for yourself.
Our Credentials and State Registration
A&A Quick Fix is a New York State DMV Registered Motor Vehicle Repair Shop and an Official Inspection Station, Facility #7132360 — a state license you can verify in about a minute. Behind that number are roughly ten years of Ali working under the hood and more than ninety reviews from Brooklyn drivers that we neither wrote nor can edit.
The green and white sign is not decoration
New York requires motor vehicle repair shops to register with the DMV and display the green and white "Registered State of New York Motor Vehicle Repair Shop" sign outside, with the registration certificate posted inside. Ours is #7132360. If a shop does not have one, that tells you something.
You have a right to a written estimate
Under New York's Repair Shop Act, if you ask a registered shop for a written estimate, it must give you one, listing each part and its cost and identifying anything used or not of original quality. The final bill cannot exceed that estimate without your consent.
The State can act on complaints
If a customer believes a registered shop treated them unfairly, they can file a complaint with the DMV. The DMV can mediate, investigate, and where it finds violations it can fine a shop or suspend or revoke its registration. That accountability applies to us.
We are also an Inspection Station
A&A Quick Fix is licensed as an Official New York State Inspection Station, which is a separate authorization from the repair-shop registration. It is what allows us to perform NYS safety and emissions inspections on eligible vehicles.
How We Work on a Car
The same three steps whether it is an oil change or a transmission concern.
1. Test before replacing
A warning light or a noise does not by itself name the failed part. We inspect or test the affected system first. The alternative — replacing likely parts until the symptom stops — is how customers end up paying for repairs their car never needed.
2. Explain what we found
We tell you what the test showed, what we recommend, what it costs, and roughly how long it should take. If part of the work can reasonably wait, we say which part. You approve the work before it starts.
3. Check the repair
When appropriate and safe for the approved repair, the result is checked with a road test and/or a re-check of the affected system, so the problem you came in with is actually gone.
What We Work On
Most European, Asian, and domestic passenger cars, minivans, and SUVs. If you are not sure whether we handle your vehicle or the specific job, call with the year, make, model, and engine and we will tell you straight.
The work itself: NYS safety and emissions inspections, engine diagnostics, brake repair, oil changes, A/C service, suspension and steering, exhaust and catalytic converters, cooling systems, batteries and starters, tune-ups, transmission service, and engine replacement. Full list on the services page.
Who Comes to Us
A&A Quick Fix sits on 3rd Ave in Sunset Park, just below the Gowanus Expressway, which is how most of our customers reach us. Drivers come from Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Park Slope, Gowanus, Red Hook, Borough Park, Greenwood Heights, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, and nearby Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Every one of those drivers is served from this one shop. We do not operate branches under other names or claim addresses in neighborhoods where we are not. The nearest subway is the 36th Street station (D/N/R). See Areas We Serve for directions from your neighborhood.
About A&A Quick Fix — Frequently Asked Questions
Who owns A&A Quick Fix Auto Repair?
Ahmad and Ali own and run it. The two A's in the business name are their first names. It is an independent shop with no corporate parent and no franchise arrangement.
How long has A&A Quick Fix been in business?
The shop opened at 889 3rd Ave in Sunset Park in January 2024. Ali worked as a mechanic for roughly ten years before that. We do not claim decades of business tenure, because the business does not have them.
Is A&A Quick Fix a licensed repair shop?
Yes. A&A Quick Fix is registered with the New York State DMV as a Motor Vehicle Repair Shop and is licensed as an Official New York State Inspection Station, Facility #7132360. You can verify that number through the DMV's lookup for regulated businesses.
How big is the shop?
Two repair bays and three mechanics, plus one additional mechanic we bring in when the workload calls for it. It is a small operation, which is why calling ahead helps on busy days.
Where is A&A Quick Fix located?
889 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232, in Sunset Park, below the Gowanus Expressway. This is our only location. The nearest subway is the 36th Street station on the D, N, and R lines.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours. Calling ahead is worth it for NYS inspections, diagnostic visits, drop-offs, and any repair that may need a part ordered in first. See the appointment page for the three ways to book.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Closed Sunday.
Do you work on European cars, or only Japanese and domestic?
Both. We work on most European, Asian, and domestic passenger cars, minivans, and SUVs, including Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Jeep. Call with the year, make, model, and engine and we will confirm whether we can carry out the specific job.
Will you give me a written estimate?
Yes. Under New York's Repair Shop Act you have the right to request one from any registered shop, and it must list each part and its cost. More generally, we explain what we found and what we recommend before any repair work is approved — that conversation happens on every job, whether you ask for the written version or not.
How much do repairs cost?
There is no single honest price without the exact vehicle, engine, symptoms, and required work. Two cars with the same complaint often need different repairs. We test or inspect first, explain the findings, and give a clear estimate before approved work begins.
Are your Google reviews real?
Yes, and we cannot edit or remove them. More than ninety Brooklyn drivers have reviewed A&A Quick Fix on our Google Business Profile. We do not pay for reviews and we do not post them ourselves. Read them on Google rather than taking a testimonial on our own website at face value.
